Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it is said, particularly at Freshfields where our breakfast fulfils all needs, our vegetarian guests can enjoy a "scrummy" platter and our hearty grilled Cumbrian feast has attracted so many of our regular visitors time and again, but if it's a simple breakfast you prefer, that's fine. Fresh milk is delivered daily and our local egg lady delivers. We serve breakfast at a time to suit yourselves between 8:30 and 9:15 am in our Dining Hall welcoming you to individual tables beneath the panelled staircase.

Wide choice of cereal, fruit juices, fresh Grapefruit
Porridge may be pre ordered

Our grill includes Bacon, juicy Cumberland sausage and fresh grilled tomato.
Fresh buttered mushrooms, crispy fried bread.
Eggs of your choice, one or two, fried, poached, scrambled or boiled complete the platter.
Tasty Wicken Fen vegetarian sausages available as required.
Haggis or Black pudding may be pre ordered.

Please feel free to have a lighter breakfast if that is your choice

Decaffeinated or normal Ground coffee or tea is available together with Earl Grey, Lady Grey or a small selection of herbal teas.

We will endeavor to meet any dietary or vegetarian requirements but do please advise us before or upon your arrival.
